Installation is easy! When you register online for a XStats account a custom HTML code is generated and delivered to you via email. Upon receipt of this code, simply copy the code in its entirety and paste it in the BOTTOM of the source code of any of the web pages in your site for which you would like to record traffic statistics. If you would like to track traffic throughout your entire site, you merely paste this code on every one of your web pages. For even faster set-up,
use our Installation Wizard!
These few lines of code added to your web pages will allow our servers to start collecting traffic data each time a surfer visits your website. As your visitors navigate throughout your site, XStats keeps track of which pages they access, what types of browsers, operating systems and plug-ins they are using, where they came from, where they they exit your site from as well as hundreds of other vital web audience statistics.
XStats Statistics Guide
VISITOR TYPES
| Visitor Type |
Description |
| Impressions |
"Impressions" are defined as the total number of page views your site receives. At XStats we calculate impressions by adding the total number of unique visitors + reloads + hourly returns + daily returns to your site. |
| Uniques |
Uniques are Internet surfers who have either never visited your site before, or surfers who have not visited your site in the last 24 hours. |
| Reload |
Visitors to your site are categorized as "reloads" when they visit your page more than once in a 5 minute period. |
| Hourly Return |
Visitors are considered as Hourly Returns if they visit your site and then come back anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour later. |
| Daily Return |
Daily returns are visitors who come back between 1 hour and 24 hours after visiting your site the first time. This type of traffic is very similar to Hourly Returns, but will tell you that surfers typically wait at least a few hours before they return. |
